Rosalie Homestead is located on Rosalie Plains Station 30 kilometres north of Oakey. The homestead is nestled in two acres of established private gardens including rustic outbuildings dating back to the 1860’s. Home to "Bernborough", Melbourne cup winner and steeped in history.

The 6 bedroom accommodation is set up in three family suites of two bedrooms and one shared bathroom. Each suite is privately accessed with its own deck area overlooking the gardens. The entire property accommodates 12 - 18 guests comfortably. Bedrooms consist of King and/ or extra long single beds. Most rooms have reverse cycle air conditioning / fans. The large open plan living / dining room is ideal for socialising with your family and friends and boasts an open fire place for those winter evenings. A fully self contained kitchen including dishwasher and microwave is designed for entertaining a large number of guests. Quality linen provided. Tennis court and equipment available. Croquet, cricket and other indoor/outdoor activities also provided.

Close to the Bunya Mountains, Jondaryan Woolshed, Cooma Falls and Maidenwell Astronomical Observatory, Oakey Flying Museum, Cowboy Up Horse Trail Riding, Muntupa Railway Tunnel (rare bat colony), Highfields precinct, golf courses and wineries.

“Moorlands Country Retreat” is part of a number of small properties that have been acquired by your hosts, Victoria and Scott Menkins and their 3 children. We invite you to visit one of our properties to experience real farm life. Dairy farm experiences include milking, feeding calves, tractor drive, ATV motorbike ride to get the cows in for milking. A personalised tour is around 2 hours and bookings are essential. Horse Riding for all ages available at Cowboy Up Horse Trail Riding.

LOCATION

Moorlands is situated 27km north of Oakey on Queensland's picturesque Darling downs. Just 50 minutes drive from Toowoomba and 2 1/2 hours from Brisbane, it is a comfortable drive from the state's capital. An almost all weather air strip is located on the property and strip co-ordinates are available on request.
